Frank and Line live in a nice neighborhood where the houses are close together. For Frank, the story began with an unpleasant discovery. “This started with a clogged sewer in our house, and that’s not pleasant,” he says. The sewer master from KFH-Kloak was called in and acted quickly to remove the blockage. But it would turn out to be the beginning of a bigger challenge.
When a clogged drain revealed a bigger problem
After the work, the drain was thoroughly inspected, and when a rat poked its head out of the drain, it became clear what the cause of the problem was. “The solution was supposed to be that we had to stop rats from entering the sewer system,” explains Frank. That’s why a rat barrier was installed to prevent future rat problems.
Curiosity turned into security for Line
While Frank was working, Line, his neighbor, came home. Curious, she asked what was going on. “I come home from an errand and see a sewer technician working with Frank. That’s when I learned that there had been rats,” says Line.
When she heard about the problem, she became concerned because her property is close to Frank’s. So the sewer technician offered to inspect Line’s sewer as well. “Here, they discover that there have also been rats in our sewer. We don’t have a rat barrier either, so they offer to install one,” she says.
The result: A rat-free everyday life
Today, after some time, both neighbors are very satisfied with the solution. “Since we repaired the damage and installed the rat barrier, we have not had any experience with rats,” says Frank.
Line agrees and highlights the ongoing maintenance of the rat barrier as an important advantage: “Now it is no longer possible to have rats visit because of the rat barrier, which is also checked regularly. I didn’t know it was supposed to do that either.”
